Become A Registered Family Child Care Provider
Caring about children is the first step to beginning a career caring for them. As a professional family child care provider, you'll not only help children feel happy and secure, but you'll have the convenience of working at home and the satisfaction of earning a good income.
- A family child care provider is a special person with patience, creativity and the ability to understand the needs of young children.
- Family childcare takes place in a private home with no more than five children enrolled.
- New Jersey law allows for voluntaryregistration. The registration process includes an application process, eight-hour pre-service training and a home health and safety review.
- Providers must be at least 18 years old.
