  • ITERS-3 Overview & PITC Philosophy-Program leaders can gain a basic knowledge of the ITERS-3 and be able to use the tool for program self-improvement. The ITERS-3 workbook will be available. The PITC relationship-based philosophy and training series will also be presented. Infant/Toddler program leaders will gain knowledge of the PITC philosophy as well as utilize the ITERS-3 workbook as an assessment tool to coach their staff and guide decision making.
  • Discovery Zone:Space to Grow ITERS-3:Space and Furnishings-Learn to create quality safe, nurturing and engaging environments which can support healthy infant toddler development. Leaders will learn how to consider various aspects of indoor space, furnishings for care, play and learning, room arrangement and display for children. Infant/Toddler program leaders will utilize the ITERS-3 workbook as an assessment tool to coach their staff and guide decision making for safe, nurturing and engaging environments.
  • Flexible Fearful and Feisty ITERS-3: Interaction-Infant/Toddler program leaders will have the opportunity to explore and understand their own temperament and the temperament of someone close to them. This exploration allows directors to discover and examine the influence of individual differences in temperament on their relationships and interactions with staff and especially with infants and toddlers. In addition, leaders will examine supervision of play and learning, peer interaction, staff-child interaction and discipline. Infant/Toddler program leaders will utilize the ITERS-3 workbook as an assessment tool to coach and mentor their staff on the influence of individual differences in temperament on their relationships and interactions with staff. In addition, leaders will examine supervision of play and learning, supervision of gross motor play, peer interaction, staff-child interaction , providing physical warmth/touch and guiding children's behavior
  • Early Messages ITERS-3: Language and Books-How do babies learn language? The emphasis in this session is placed on making children's experiences with language positive and engaging in the context of nurturing relationships. Infant/Toddler program leaders will utilize the ITERS-3 workbook as an assessment tool to coach and mentor their staff with nurturing children's language development, including talking to children, encouraging vocabulary development, responding to children's communication, encouraging children to communicate, staff use of books with children, and encouraging children's use of books.
